Anchor Christian Academy is a Non-Denominational Christian School with a strong focus on Academic Excellence in Christian Perspective!
We believe in a traditional, teacher-centered classroom where students utilize lectures, note-taking, visuals, classroom participation, individual and group projects, review, and discussion as means toward "Academic Excellence Centered in Christ!"
We use a combined curriculum approach: Abeka, Houghton Mifflin, Prentice Hall, McDougal-Littell, etc. The goal of the combined curriculum approach is to ensure totality of learning, saturation of understanding, and mastery of subject matter. No single curriculum is perfect in and of itself. However, when curriculums are used in conjunction with one another, the educational value is strengthened. All of our classes, no matter the book that is used, is taught in Christian worldview!
Each student at Anchor Christian Academy must have all core classes (Math, English, Science, Social Studies, Reading, Spelling). In addition, each student will take at least one semester of Art, Music, Home Economics, and Agriculture as part of Graduational Requirements. Also, each student will take Biblical Studies and Spanish each year they attend Anchor Christian Academy!
We have capability of exciting and fun extracurricular activities! The number of students who sign up for specific extracurricular programs will determine which of the following are offered each year. Anchor Christian Academy students, Homeschoolers signed up through Anchor Christian Academy, and public school students in the Afterschool Program are eligible to participate in extracurricular activities. These activities include:
Boys and Girls Basketball, Baseball, Swim Team, Soccer, Cheerleading, Softball, Tennis, Volleyball, Science Fair, Paintball, Lock-Ins, Theater, Outdoor Club, and educational programs throughout the school year!

Anchor Christian Academy is located at 442 Freedom Tabernacle Lane Atkins, Va 24311 on the premises of Freedom Tabernacle Baptist Church and Camp Freedom. We are approximately one mile off of Interstate 81.
If coming from I-81 South, take a left on Nicks Creek Road and then a right on Pierce Road. The school is located on the next right, Freedom Lane.
If coming from I-81 North, take a right on Nicks Creek Road and then a right on Pierce Road. The school is located on the next right, Freedom Lane.
